In which the charges give a visual description of the bearer’s name. There are many examples, notably, the castle and lion for ancient Spanish kingdoms of Castile and Leon, the hammers of Martel, the herons of Heron, the falcon of Falconer, and the swallows (hirondelles) of Arundel.
