Anchored Cross

Anchorie, Anchory, Anchry, Ancré, Ancred

The four extremities resemble the flukes of an anchor. Very similar  to the Cross Moline.  It is sometimes confounded with the Cross Cercelé and was, even more confusingly,  called the anchorite's cross since an anchorite is a hermit with little connection to an anchor. See also Cross Paté  double fitché of all four.

In French heraldry, the anchored cross is identical to the Cross Moline.
