Caboshed, Caboched, Cabossed

(derived from the old French caboche)

a bull's head caboshed

The head of a beast borne full-faced or affronté with the neck concealed, as distinct from couped, where the neck is  shown cut neatly by a parallel line or erased where the cut is ragged.  Trunked is another term for caboshed. Compare with Couped-close.
