Cantoned

This term is used to describe various positions of charges in the following circumstances:
Az a cross couped cantoned with 4 mullets all or
1. A cross or saltire accompanied by four objects or charges.
Az cantoned with 4 fleur-de-lys or
2. Four charges each placed in the four cantons of the shield.
Az a fleur-de-lys or cantoned
3. A charge placed in the first quarter of the shield.

Sa a fess cantoned or
4. An ordinary, e.g., fess, bar or pale cantoned, indicates that the ordinary is conjoined or united to a canton without any division, when both borne of the same tincture.

5. Cantoned lambeau indicates that one or more points of a label is borne charged with a canton as a difference.
