Capital Cross, Cross Capiteau

A Cross with each limb in the form of the capital of a column. It is also called a cross corniced or cornished at each end, and likewise a  cross headed after the Tuscan order: It is sometimes termed a cross brick-axed, because the ends bear a resemblance to the heads of brick-axes used by bricklayers to cut bricks. Ornaments are often borne to adorn the end of each limb. It has been at times termed an astrical cross.

Cross astrical and Cross cornished flurt are terms sometimes used to describe a Capital Cross adorned with the addition of a fleur-de-lis at the extremities.
