Cross Nowyed

A cross having a semi-circular projection from both sides of each of its limbs.  When other than circular, the form must be stated. See below.

Cross nowyed degraded or grady. 

Cross nowyed degraded or grady, conjoined or fixed. 

Cross nowyed grady conjoined, and fitché in the foot. 

Cross nowyed lozengy which differs from cross nowy lozengy. See below 

Note 1. The term nowed, which means knotted, has mistakenly been used to describe this blazon

Note 2. The distinction between Nowyed and Nowy:

A cross nowy

Nowyed signifies that the projections are on the flanks of the cross. Nowy implies but one projection, and that in the centre. Not only plain crosses, but various others may be so borne in the middle. See Cross Nowy.
