Cross Potence, Cross Potent

A Cross having its limbs end in potents shaped like a crutch. It has also sometime been termed Cross Enhendé and also quite obscurely Cross Baton.

 

Cross potent crossed. It was by ancient heralds termed a cross gemell, from the doubling of the crutches or potents at each limb.

 

Cross potent engrailed. It should not be engrailed at the potents, but only on the sides.

 

Cross potent fitched has the under limb brought to a point instead of potented.

 

Cross potent pommelled and fitched at the foot

 

Cross potent of all four points double fitched and rebated.
