Crowned

(Fr. Couronné)

Having a crown or coronet on the head, which is very common with animals borne in coat-armour. When the kind of crown is not particularly named in the blazon, as a lion crowned, it is generally understood to be ducally crowned and such is implied. Any other crown, e.g. royal, should be named in blazon.
