1. Small spikes or bosses, sometimes in the specific form of a fleur-de-lis, lion or other object, projecting from the knuckles of Gauntlets. Also called Gadlyngs. See Armour
2. Oblong curved plates of metal as used in the arms of the Ironmongers' Company.
