A cardinal has a scarlet hat with a pendant of fifteen tassels interwoven with gold thread on either side, the patriarch of Venice has a similar hat and a double -traversed cross placed behind the arms in pale, a patriarch has a similar hat but green in colour, an archbishop has a green hat with pendants of ten tassels on either side also with a double-traversed cross, a bishops hat is also green with six tassels on each side but with a single traversed cross or a crozier in pale or in bend, and an abbots hat is black with pendants of three with a crozier in pale or in bend.
