Letters, either singly or formed into words, are sometimes found as bearings in heraldry, mostly confined to continental heraldry. When employed as charges, their text or character must be described. See also K

A device given to one of the Mendoza family, who was the first to advance the Christian colours, bearing those words, on the walls of the city of Grenada, then in the possession of the Moors.
