Lion of England

An allusion to the lions on the arms of Great Britain. In English heraldry a lion passant guardant or is generally blazoned a lion of England. It is a term often used in blazonry, particularly when describing an augmentation of arms, in which case, instead of stating, say,  on a canton gu a lion passant guardant or, as an augmentation, the blazon should run on a canton gu a lion of England, which implies a lion, in the same position and metal as those borne in the royal arms.
