Overture

From the French ouvert, applied to the wings of a bird, when spread open on each side of its head, as if taking flight. See Disclosed.

 It is, likewise, applied to inanimate things, as a purse overt, meaning an open purse.

Overture elevated, differs from the last by having the points of the wings elevated.
