Per Chevron

Per chevron arg and az

Per chevron is a division of the field, or any charge, by two pyramidical lines meeting in a point, in the form of the chevron. When anything is thus borne, it is said to be per chevron, or party per chevron, though the word party is unnecessary.

Note. The field, and almost every charge borne, may be divided per chevron throughout all the various lines of partition used in heraldry, such as per chevron indented, engrailed, embattled, etc.  Point and chefe and poynt are the old English term found in early works
