The sword is represented two handed, unsheathed, straight in the blade and pointed. The hilt, pommel and accoutrements are always specified in the blazon. Pynant and sayland is an Old English term the pommel and cross of the sword.

Sword broken
It should be noted that the broken point is never shown unless particularly expressed in the blazon.
