Tiercé, per tiercé
Tierced in fess arg, az and gu
Divided into three equal parts, or triparted, of three different tinctures. A shield may be tierced in pale, tierced in fess, tierced in pairle, tierced in pairle reversed and tierced pallwise.
A nicety could here be observed that when the centre division, whether fessways or palewise, is shadowed, so as to show an overlaying upon the field, it would then become an ordinary, e.g. fess or pale. The blazon in the illustrated example, could then be per fess arg and gu a fess az. It can only be considered a tripartite division where the middle part joins the others without a shadow.

Tiercé in gyrons arrondie or gironnant.

Tierced in mantle: gu; az charged with a bezant; and ermine
Tierced or Tiercé in mantle or chapé-ployé.
When three shields are marshalled on one shield, they are blazoned tierced in pale.
