Ulster King-of-Arms
Formerly, the principal heraldic officer for Ireland. The office was instituted by Edward VI in 1552 although it had existed previously under a different name. Ulster King-of-Arms was assisted by Athlone Pursuivant.
Following the demise of Ulster King-of-Arms, heraldic matters relating to Northern Ireland come under the jurisdiction of Norroy, whereas in the Irish Republic, they are now looked after by the Chief Herald of Ireland.
