Edge, Welt

A narrow kind of border to an ordinary or charge, sometimes improperly called a fimbriation, but the cross etc., when fimbriated  should have the fimbriation run all round it, showing itself where it joins the sides of the shield, which the welt or edge does not, when the charge touches the sides of the shield.
